Enlarged Pores

Typically, large pore size is related to overactive sebaceous gland activity, so those with oily skin or acne tend to experience more visible pores. When these oily skin pores become clogged with sebum, the pore wall becomes stretched.

Age and “tired” skin function can also contribute to enlarged pores, as can sun exposure and skin that is out of balance due to incorrect product use, health issues, medication use or other reasons.

How Aesthetics of Liverpool can help?

At Aesthetics of Liverpool we have a vast portfolio of treatments, suitable for this condition all of which are safe and effective and an ideal solution for this condition.

Our 4 step Pore Patrol process has been developed to ensure results is nothing short of exceptional.

We can use all four steps, or just specific elements of this treatment to meet your particular requirements.

Step 1&2 for enlarged pores.

First, there’s deep cleaning with a salicylic acid mask to soften the oily plugs in the pores, which are then vacuumed out with a remarkably gentle medical microdermabrasion device.

Step 3 for enlarged pores.

Next, to build up the collagen around the pores, we use our advanced radio frequency device treating the whole face. Radio Frequency treatments work by heating up the lower layers of skin to 42 degrees, to kick-start the production of more collagen, but this is perfectly tolerable and highly effective in our process.

Step 4 for enlarged pores.

After that Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) machine which stimulates collagen in a slightly different way.

A hydrating mask and 20 minutes under a canopy of skin-soothing, anti-inflammatory and collagen-building red light completes the treatment. At this point, your skin simply looks amazing and the pores are barely visible. Literally, after just one treatment the results are fantastic.

To further reduce pores and keep them at bay we can also consider Micro-Botox. This treatment is the new way to smooth skin and shrink pores. It is injected into the more superficial layers of the skin, and in wrinkle-free parts of the complexion like the T-zone, cheeks and chin-micro-Botox does not affect muscle-nerve communication to minimise deep lines on the face (like traditional Botox treatments), but instead, tightens enlarged pores, making the skin look smoother and, yes, younger!

There are also many other treatments currently available to reduce pore size.
