Skin Tags, Warts & Blemishes

Skin tags

Skin Tags are a very common and harmless skin blemishing condition, they are small flesh or brown coloured growths that resemble warts. They are made of collagen fibres and blood vessels contained by the skin and are usually only very small. They are not painful or discomforting, however, they can be irritated by clothing or jewellery and bleed as a result.

Warts

Warts are most common on a person’s body on their hands and feet, although they can arise in any area. They have a rough cauliflower texture and are usually caused by a viral infection.

How Aesthetics of Liverpool can help?

At Aesthetics of Liverpool we have a vast portfolio of treatments, suitable for most types of blemishes. We use several techniques and upon your consultation, your clinician will advise you of the best option for your individual case.

PLEXR for blemishes

Skin complaints such as Hyper-pigmentation, acne scarring, skin tags, warts, blemishes and seborrheic keratosis can be treated effectively using Plexr with long-lasting and permanent results.

Plasma Soft Surgery® achieves beneficial effects by delivering multiple shots of plasma, via a hand-held device, creating an arc to stimulate an instant desired treatment to the skin.

Excision Removal for blemishes

The blemish is carefully cut away using a scalpel. The skin tag will be completely removed and there will only be a small white or pink scar in its place. This procedure can be done under local anaesthetic and will require a small stitch in the skin. The wart is blemished immediately and permanently with this treatment.

Cryotherapy for blemishes

Cryotherapy involves using liquid nitrogen to freeze off the blemish. The cold temperature kills the cells, as well as constricting its blood supply. This causes the blemish to die and naturally fall off. The blemish is frozen by applying liquid Nitrogen, a gas that produces freezing temperatures, to the area. The cold temperature kills the cells within the blemish, blocking the blood supply to the area, causing it to naturally fall off. (This treatment is also used for wart and verruca removal).

Wart Laser removal for blemishes

A specialised laser heats up the blood vessels feeding the wart, which collapse in on themselves and stop the blood supply. This starves the wart of nutrients so it naturally falls off after a few weeks.
