Acne Treatments: How We Can Help During and After

What Is Acne?

Acne is a skin condition that can either be a consequence of puberty or an unhealthy lifestyle; however, there is no set point in a person’s life where this condition becomes apparent. Unfortunately, acne is prevalent, and for the sufferer’s of it, living with acne is never a walk in the park; it is often the reason behind bullying, as well as low self-esteem — approximately 85 percent of people between the ages of 12 and 24 experience at least minor acne. Because of this, more and more members of the public are seeking out acne treatments that’ll bring their skin back to a clearer condition.

Acne is usually in the form of whiteheads, pimples or blackheads and is caused by follicles being clogged up with dead skin cells and oil from the skin’s surface. Another serious downfall to this skin condition is that it tends to leave scarring; if acne isn’t treated correctly or is of a severe state, scars are left behind, and again, these scars are usually challenging to live with.

Although wearing make-up and cover-up’s is a quick, temporary solution to hiding your acne and scars, we take it upon ourselves to provide our clients with a permanent solution that lasts. Here at Aesthetics of Liverpool, we are a team of highly qualified and experienced clinicians and experts who have dealt with all cases of the acne skin condition.

What Acne Treatments Are There?

In our Liverpool aesthetics clinic, we cannot offer you a quick answer to what acne treatments will work best for your skin over the phone. Instead, we require you to attend a consultation; in this consultation, we are able to fully assess your skin and acne severity so that we can administer you a treatment that’ll give you the best results.

As the condition of everybody’s skin varies, every case of acne manifests in its own way, too. Therefore, we invest all of our time and efforts into finding a solution that’ll work for each individual’s skin’s needs. As the treatment of acne is a long process, we, unfortunately, can’t give you one half-hour treatment and then let you go.

To give you the best chances at having clear, glowing and rejuvenated skin that brings back your confidence, we tailor a bespoke treatment plan that is entirely for your skin. During this course, we will support and be there for you until your skin is at a stage that you are completely happy with. As we have a vast range of treatments that target acne such as The Perfect Derma Peel, we want to ensure that we choose the right one for your skin type.

What Acne Scarring Treatments Are There?

In terms of acne scarring, we have several treatments that would work wonders to reduce the look of the redness, pits and ‘lumpy’ skin that you may be left with after battling with the acne skin condition. Each of our scarring treatments works to replenish and rejuvenate the skin back to a state of being smooth, supple and clear.

The first being The Skin Pen; this treatment is done by using a specialised micro-needling device that creates thousands of micro-punctures in the skin’s dermis to encourage the natural processes of healing. This then triggers the new production of collagen, the element of the skin which keeps it looking plump, youthful and bright; therefore, you are left with a fresh surface area of skin that is scar-free. These 30-minute treatments bare minimal side effects and zero recovery time.

Subcision is our second acne scarring treatment that similarly to the micro-needling, uses a needle to puncture the skin and essentially lift the scars; this again promotes the natural healing process and new collagen to smooth out the lumps and bumps. This practice is very popular in the USA and is very effective for all types of scarring.

PRP is another acne scarring treatment that is highly effective in reducing the appearance of scarring from encouraging the natural healing process! Except for this time, Platelet Rich Plasma is harvested from the client’s blood to then be applied to the problem area where it will help the skin dermis to regrow. Our blood’s plasma is an excellent component for healing wounds and damaged tissue; therefore, by aggravating the scarring, the plasma will work it’s magic in resurfacing this area.

Mesotherapy is also an option that might be offered to you for your scarring. This procedure is an extreme version of the Skin Pen, but instead of just the micro-needling process, Mesotherapy is carried out by a weak electric current that penetrates the skin to distribute Hyaluronic Acid and various vitamins. This instantly rejuvenates the face, leaving smooth results.

Lastly, we have our E-Light, Co2 Laser, Low-Level Light Therapy, Steroid Injections, and Flattening Scar Sheets which will all be a potential candidate for your skin and will be discussed in your consultation. During the consultation, you can ask any pressing questions that you may have, as well as express your concerns. We will give you the full details on your chosen procedure, and what to expect afterwards. We want you to feel comfortable and confident in that our aim matches yours… to have skin that makes you feel good.
