Celebrities And Fillers

Celebrities And Fillers

Fillers are everywhere these days, and it’s thanks to our favourite celebrities that this aesthetic procedure has been normalised and popularised over the past few years. It used to be that everyone was ashamed to admit they’d had fillers done; however, now people are posting everywhere about their new look!

For many of us, it is reassuring to know that some of the most gorgeous people in the world were able to achieve their faces through aesthetic fillers. And, what’s more, this popular aesthetic treatment is accessible to anyone who would like to enhance their appearance, not just celebrities.

This week, we are putting together a list of celebrities who have admitted to having filler treatments and, more importantly, are not ashamed to speak about the work they’ve had done. The aim of this post is not to call out celebrities who have received fillers. Instead, it is to praise them for speaking out and not selling a false promise of ‘unachievable natural aesthetic.’ Getting work done is never something to be ashamed of; however, nothing is more damaging than those that lie about the work they’ve undergone.

Models who claim to have juicy lips naturally and sultry fox eye faces can seriously damage the mental health and self-esteem of people all around the world. Here at Aesthetics of Liverpool, we are proud of our work and love making people happier and more confident. That’s why we want to help normalise speaking out about undergoing aesthetic procedures!

Why are fillers so popular these days?

People believe that having filler treatments is comparable to getting your hair or nails done. In fact, people have started incorporating fillers into their regular routines as a top-up for special occasions and maintaining their preferred appearance all year round. Fillers were deemed a secret celebrity treatment that only the mega-rich could access; however, now, fillers are an affordable practice that most people can afford. Moreover, they are easily incorporated into a routine.

The perks of fillers, aside from their accessibility, are also how quick and easy the procedures are. Clients will see the results immediately after only a 30-minute appointment, meaning that even those with the most hectic lifestyles have time to squeeze in a last-minute session. Of course, the overall treatment time will vary from patient to patient; but an instant difference is guaranteed.

Furthermore, the more celebrities admit to using fillers to achieve their aesthetic goals, the more people will gain realistic expectations regarding facial aesthetics. So much so that fillers have dramatically increased in popularity. The American Society for aesthetic plastic has seen a 40.6% increase in fillers over the last five years. Additionally, a survey carried out by VICE UK found 68% knew one or more people from their friendship group had fillers already had one of these cosmetic procedures. This is all thanks to the open conversations about filler and ending the stigma towards them.

So how do fillers work?

Dermal fillers contain hyaluronic acid – a chemical found in all living organisms and the key to achieving a youthful complexion. A dermal filler procedure aims to boost the skin’s supply of hyaluronic acid, which instantly reduces the appearance of wrinkles and adds volume to the skin.

As we age, we lose volume as we produce less collagen. Collagen is the protein responsible for creating a plump, youthful appearance. Therefore, as our collagen levels reduce, the skin begins to sag. Dermal fillers, however, are a soft gel that is directly injected into the skin to hydrate and fill the sagging skin, resulting in a sculpted, youthful appearance.

Which celebrities have admitted to using fillers?

Kim Kardashian

One of the most open celebrities to admit work being done, Kim has changed her tune in recent years. From having undergone x-rays to prove she had not received BBL (buttock augmentation) to now posting Instagram posts with her doctor’s details tagged. Kim is one of the more significant advocates for admitting to receiving fillers. Whilst is Kim considered to be one of the most beautiful women on the planet, it’s nice to know that just like us, she felt she needed a bit of extra help from a doctor to get her there.

Molly-Mae Hague

Love Island star and girl boss of the UK, Molly-Mae, is an inspiration to people across the country. However, when Molly-Mae took her fillers too far, she decided to get them dissolved and go for a more natural look. In a recent podcast wherein Molly-Mae revealed all about her success, she went into detail about how much she loved receiving filler and how even though hers have been dissolved, it by no means takes away how much she loved them.

At Aesthetics of Liverpool, we respect Molly-Mae’s decision to dissolve her excessive use of fillers. Here, we believe less is definitely more when it comes to this aesthetic treatment! We believe they should be used to enhance a client’s beauty and natural features rather than attempting to change their face.

Olivia Coleman

Olivia Coleman admitted to The Sunday Times to having filler, and she ‘loved them’ too!

Kylie Jenner

Kylie first received suspicions of lip fillers back in 2016 and would be super anxious about people bringing it up during interviews. However, thanks to the shifting attitudes towards receiving fillers, Kylie admits having her lips done and being open to other surgeries.

Cardi B

Cardi admits to having undergone fillers in her twenties as she felt self-conscious about her appearance whilst working as a dancer in strip clubs. Cardi also isn’t ashamed of saying she underwent a ‘mommy-makeover’ after giving birth – go, Cardi!

Jamie-Lee Curtis

She admits to ‘having it all, and we love her open attitude to what she’s received and shared with the public about her journey with fillers.

Now we could go on and on for endless pages about the celebrities who have undergone filler, so we’ve just given a brief snapshot of the celebs we know and love who have openly discussed the filler and procedures they have undergone. We imagine that, like us, this doesn’t alter your opinion of the above celebrities; instead, it normalises the concept of undergoing a cosmetic procedure such as filler. The list of celebrities above may have even inspired you to speak out about your own experiences with filler, or perhaps you want to try it out for yourself.

We are proud to offer a wide range of filler treatments at our Liverpool clinic, from cheek filler, lip filler, chin filler and jaw filler, as well as tear through treatments, filler for volume loss and temples.
