The Science Of ULTRAcelQ: How Does This Revolutionary Treatment Work?

By now, you may already be aware of Aesthetic of Liverpool’s latest, most innovative fat loss treatment, ULTRAcelQ. This blog aims to go further, exploring the science behind ULTRAcelQ’s technology and why High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound energy is so effective as a non-surgical alternative. However, if you’re not familiar with ULTRAcelQ, don’t worry! We’ll get you up to speed with what makes this revolutionary procedure so popular with people worldwide.

There used to be two ways of shedding stubborn fat cells: sweating them away at the gym or going under the knife with risky surgeries. Unfortunately, for most people, both of these options present complex challenges. On the one hand, few of us can dedicate enough time at the gym to see a worthwhile difference. It requires hours of hard work and free time to accommodate a solid fitness plan. When this is considered on top of a job and family commitments, burning off those fat cells is often an arduous journey. On the other, opting for surgery is an expensive and risky alternative. Not only do these liposuction surgeries cost between £2,000 to £4,000, but they also come with lengthy post-op recoveries.

Luckily for us today, science and technology have combined together to create innovative and effective fat-loss procedures aimed at targeting and destroying stubborn pockets of fat. ULTRAcelQ is the latest trending instalment to the famous HIFU range – You may be familiar with its predecessor, ULTRACOL

Here at Aesthetics of Liverpool, we always want to bring in the best products and treatments for our clients so that people across Liverpool and the North West can look their best, in order to feel their best. So these coveted procedures are no longer aimed at celebrities and restricted to LA and Dubai; we’re making innovative fat-loss treatments available for anyone!

How does ULTRAcelQ work?

ULTRAcelQ uses High-Intensity Focused Energy (HIFU) to target adipose (fat) cells within the SMAS layer of the skin. The SMAS layer stands for Superficial Musculoaponeurotic System and is the dividing layer of tissue between the epidermis (top layer of skin) and dermis (deeper layer of skin). Until now, the SMAS layer has only been reached through surgical procedures; however, thanks to groundbreaking technology, ULTRAcelQ can directly target the SMAS layer where adipose cells reside.

HIFU energy is able to penetrate through the epidermis and reach the SMAS layer directly. The HIFU energy causes these fat cells to vibrate, producing thermal heat energy. The combination of vibrations and heat leads to significant fat cell damage or cell necrosis. The cells reach a heat of around 60-65°C, leading to the cell’s death after one second of exposure. As a result, the fat cells are incapable of regenerating or reproducing and naturally pass through the body. Research has found that this method is highly effective in removing fat cells, seeing a reduction in the targetted area.

In response to the cell necrosis, the body will go into natural healing mode, producing a protein called collagen. Collagen is the most prominent protein in the human body, having a vital role in connective tissue. This protein makes bones, muscles, skin, tendons, and cartilage tissue strong and resilient to stretching. And, within the skin, it helps to provide a firm, tight, and youthful appearance. Without it, the skin will weaken and begin to sag.

Unfortunately, as we get older, our bodies stop producing as much collagen, which is why we start to see fine lines and loose skin. The beauty of ULTRAcelQ is that as well as directly targeting fat cells, the HIFU causes a mild trauma within the dermis that stimulates collagen production. As collagen levels increase, the tissue is tightened and strengthened, toning the skin in this area. Furthermore, the body will continue to produce collagen even after the treatment meaning that you will continue to see long-lasting results!

What can ULTRAcelQ be used to treat?

In addition to being an effective fat loss and body contouring tool, ULTRAcelQ can be used to:
